I am just excogitating (thinking heavily) about persons who profess to accept Christ, but their lives never become Christ like. These people claim Christ as their friend, but by incessant (continual) sin, their sins say the antithesis (opposite). Are or were they Christ’s friends? And if so, have they committed amicicide (killing of one’s friend)?
Notice what the writer of Hebrews says about such persons, Hebrews 6:4 – For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing theycrucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
We are to do introspections (search within) quotidianly (daily) to see if we are committing amicicide against Christ.
If we find that our actions are commensurate with amicicide, let’s rush to be abducent (turn away) from sin.
